- Manufacturer: Apple
Both are thin, quiet and well built, and both run the same software. The difference is what you give up for the lower weight.
Where the MacBook is better
The MacBook has the more comfortable keyboard and the larger battery for the money. It handles a long day of documents, video calls and a few dozen browser tabs without asking for the charger.
Where the MacBook Air is better
The Air is the lighter one: it slides into any bag and you forget it is there. If you carry your laptop every day, the weight difference adds up faster than the price difference.
So, which one?
- Choose the MacBook if the laptop mostly lives on a desk and you want the most for the money.
- Choose the MacBook Air if it travels with you every day.
